30 Comments on Speechless Sunday..... The Frozen Green River
Ann, that is really pretty (and green)! We've had some iced-over ponds, which we rarely see here. Today we hope to get in the mid-40s, so we should have a lot of thawing finally.
Bundle up and stay warm!
Ann
That water really does look green... I'm not sure I would swim in it especially now that there's ice....
Very cool cold photo Ann! Does the river usually freeze in winter or is this unusual?
Marchel,
We keep the water inside as well as the dog....
Ann
Alex,
Please do enlighten us....
Ann
George,
Not me... I do not walk on water.....
Ann
Janna,

Ann

Ann

Ann
Russel,
I have never had the pleasure of seeing the river in Chicago when they turned it green. It is such a lovely shade of brown...lol
Ann
Cherise,
I do not think much would have been moving out of the water. It was about 7 degrees when I took the photo.
Ann
Ann,
I thought today was a little better but the wind was horrible....
Ann
Diane,
I know I am not swimming in it./..... TOO COLD!
Ann
Mary,
This river does not typically freeze... It has to be really cold for at least a week and then we get some ice. So it has been REALLY cold...
Ann
Ann,
A lot different from your summertime shot. Looks like a big punchbowl with the ice. :)
Steve
Ice fishing, anyone? lol
Debi
I like your perspective on this shot, Ann. And the ice does seem to have a bit of a green tint to it.
Steve,
Yes, it does.. Without the trees, the water remains green....
Ann
Debi,
I would not step out on this ice....You might fall through!
Ann
John,
The water running under it is really green....
