Radon Resources for Homeowners, Buyers and Sellers
The EPA has declared January as National Radon Action Month. The intent is to draw attention to the number one cause of lung cancer among non-smokers and to encourage consumers to take precautions.
In my previous articles, I reviewed testing an mitigation methods. In this post, I’ll identify some of the many resources available to help homeowners.
Here are some useful websites:
The EPA many website pages on Radon. There is information for consumers, homeowners, builders, and remodelers in addition to the media. The site is loaded with content and links to other resources.
Home Buyer’s and Seller’s Guide to Radon. I’ve included this link here again because it is a great source of information all about the issues most relevant to home buyers and sellers including testing and mitigation.
EPA Map of Radon Zones. This is a useful tool on the EPA site with a graphical representation of radon concentrations all across the country.
Radon in Drinking Water. I’ve included a link to information about the hazards of radon in drinking water. This is a subject that you don’t normally hear much about.
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. This is Colorado’s website resources about radon.
Colorado Resources. This is a list of Colorado Measurement Providers and Mitigation Contractors in addition to Certified Laboratories for radon test analysis.
