Caring Singles is a non-religious, non-profit, non-discriminatory organization. Its purpose is to provide support for single, separated, divorced or widowed persons. In addition, Caring Singles hosts get-togethers such as dine-outs and hikes.
On July 8, Caring Singles held the first of its two annual picnics at the Strickler Pavilion of the Manor Township Community Park! The weather was beautiful, and in the shade of the pavilion, a slight breeze made the summer temperature comfortable.
Caring Singles meets the first Tuesday of each month at the Quality Inn, 2363 Oregon Pike, Lancaster (569-0477). Registration starts at 7:00 PM, and the meeting starts at 7:30 PM. There is no charge for first-time guests. The meetings alternate between group discussions, and speakers or entertainment. Refreshments are served afterward.
Grilled hot dogs and burgers were enjoyed by all. In addition, each member brings a covered dish to be shared with the others. The next picnic will be in September at the Manheim Township Community Park in Neffsville.
