Lehigh Valley Renters - Beware of Craiglist Scam!

Warning: There is a rental scam occurring in the Lehigh Valley involving Craigslist.

What is happening is sale homes are being listed on Craigslist as rentals and are asking for one month's rent and one month's security deposit for these homes. They are led to believe NAR is a functioning intermediary. It is instructed to sent the money via Western Union to NAR's purported agent. The National Association of REALTORS is in no way involved in this.

A red flag for this scam is to look at the contact information. If the contact is from out of the country or seems foreign, it may be a scam.

I have not heard of this one....Craigslist is NOW verifying CL accounts via telephone call. I gone one in Nov or Dec and have not had a problem posting. I DO have someone posting the sale of a Kubota tractor to my website and I report them to CL through their feedback/contact information

I have been trying since day after Thanksgiving to list my rental for Historic Bethlehem area on craigs list. Although it tells me I can find it when I click on it, it never posts! I have had other people do it for me as well and for over a week it is not working. I think they are a scam and I am being discriminated against for doing nothing wrong. Please help me!! I need to rent this place out soon. Don't know what else to do.
