As real estate professionals, we all know our home market has unique characteristics not necessarily found in other areas. We in the Pinehurst and Southern Pines area of Moore County, NC are seeing an increase in Military and Civilian personnel coming to Fort Bragg looking at our communities for their homes. We have always had a strong military presence in addition to the areas many retirees.
The army is relocation at least one base to Fort Bragg beginning this year, and we anticipate possibly one or two other bases joining in the relocation. We are anticipating up to 20,000 new military and civilian employees coming in the next few years. Some of these will spill over into Moore County because of the uniqueness of the golf resort living, beatiful scenery, good schools and relaxed lifestyle.
With the uncertainty still in real estate market, this is a hopeful sign for the Pinehurst and all a good portion of the Moore County.
