Hoo Ya's:  Best Diner in Central Massachusetts - Brimfield, MA

If you have a hankering for a big ol' breakfast complete with eggs, hash browns, sausage or bacon, toast, and perhaps some pancakes, the best place to satisfy your craving is at Hoo Ya's.hoo ya's brimfield ma

Hoo Ya's, located on Route 20 in the center of Brimfield, MA, is a favorite in Central Massachusetts.  Walk in, sit down, place your order and enjoy the atmosphere at this lively diner.  Hoo Ya's serves up large breakfasts and excellent grilled lunches amidst a friendly room full of local flavor.

Some of our breakfast favorites include combinations such as those mentioned above, along with Hoo Ya's infamous Texas French Toast - thick slices of bread battered with egg and griddled just right.  On a recent visit, my eggs-over-easy were cooked to delicate perfection - something I've not been able to master at home.  My husband's western omelet was stuffed with veggies and cheese and cozied on a plate with potatoes and rye toast.

Not on the menu, but always available, are chocolate chip pancakes loaded with gooey, melted morsels.  Accompany those with hot chocolate piled high with whipped cream, and you have pure chocolate heaven.

For lunch, you can get a grilled sandwich oozing with cheese and bacon.  Or how about a Reuben sandwich, or hot turkey with gravy?  Add a side of their meaty french fried potatoes and that lunch will hold you through an afternoon off ice fishing or sledding.

There are always good conversations going on at Hoo Ya's, and you can feel free to eavesdrop or add your two cents.  Often you'll hear the cook singing while he loads up generous platefuls of food for his customers.  The big dining room is painted pig pink, an extension of the restaurant's humorous and adorable pig decorating theme.

If you're in the southern towns of Central Massachusetts, be sure to save a morning for a visit to Hoo Ya's.  You'll feel right at home.

Kathryn:

This sounds like a great old-fashioned diner.  Chocolate chip pancakes - h-m-m...

Route 20 in that part of the state is loaded with many interesting establishments.  This is a great feature on one of them.

Kathryn- I love reading Localism posts. Although the days of diners have been over for me for over a decade now:) We use a longevity lifestyle living plan so most of our eating out takes place at our local Whole Foods:) Katerina

Lenn:  It is a dangerous little spot, our Hoo Ya's.

Michael:  Hey, thanks for including me.  Hope your class goes well.

Claudette:  Yes, as you hit Sturbridge and Brimfield, you start to see some great local spots.  Come on out and visit.

Dennis:  Let me know when you do get out this way.

Sue:  Clogged arteries for sure, along with a tight belt.

Mike:  Thanks for your comment.  This is a great little place.

Trisha:  Yeah - and so often you just don't know what's good until a local person says so.

Katerina:  I know what you mean.  Hoo Ya's is a treat for us.

Todd:  Really?  I'm surprised - always pictured NC as having all kinds of home cooking spots.

Vickie:  Well, you have to splurge once in a while and enjoy the stuff that's decadent.  Thanks for your comment.

And thank you for the Feature everyone!  Bon appetit!

I don't cook breakfasts since I prefer cereal or fruit - so yesterday my son and husband were hankering for a breakfast place.  It's a bit far to travel to MA - so we need a place like that near us!

Kirsten:  Thank you - I'm having fun with this one.  :->

I'm very proud to say that my father owns this establishment. We've been in business now for almost 16 years. Time sure flys by. We first began our business in Sturbridge on Rt148 but it was so small for us that we had to expanded. Moving to Brimfield was a huge step because my mom and dad did not know if we would still have the same amount of customers or not. However, moving to Brimfield has been amazing for us. I work there 5 days a week, sometime cook, sometimes dishwasher and also waitress. I love my customers all very much! The atmosphere is very family like. We love to joke and have a fun time. Hope those who have never experience a wonderful time decided to take a ride out and check us out. It's well worth the money, I promise!!
