Patches, a descendant of Ernest Hemingway's six-toed cats, and about 50 others can keep their home at the famous Hemingway house in Key West Florida despite the city ordinance of four domestic animals allowed per household.

The new ordinance exempts the house, stating that the cats are "an integral part of the history and ambiance of the Hemingway House."

That's good news for our six-toes feline friends!

Yay!  Key West would not be the same without the Hemingway cats!

I visited this house once. I believe they find homes for some of the new kittens don't they? Still there were quite a few of them running around that place. Surely they get out beyond the walls and wonder around.
