My owner is a Realtor with Century 21 Award in San Diego.I read a lot of blog posts today, and quite a few of them were talking about the weather, showing me pictures of frozen water, snow-covered trees, and just generally trying to make me feel really cold even though I'm hundreds of miles away.

Well, vengeance is mine! Check out the following statistics for 2009, from Lindbergh Field, San Diego's official weather station. It looks like 2010 so far is wanting to give us more of the same so far.

  1. The lowest temperature was 42°F, on January 5 and December 25.
  2. The highest temperature was 98°F on April 20.
  3. Highest rainfall in one day was December 7, with 1.56 inches.
  4. Highest rainfall in a month was February, with 2.63 inches.
  5. There were 164 consecutive days without measurable rain, June 17 through November 27. That streak tied for fourth longest in city history.
  6. Highest wind speed was 43 miles per hour, on February 9 and December 7.

San Diego sunsetLooks like December 7 was a monsoon with 43 mph windws and 1.56 inches of rain!

For the record:

  1. January is typically the wettest month, averaging 2.28 inches of rain. Only .08 of an inch fell in January 2009.
  2. January 2009 saw 11 consecutive days with temperatures of 75°F or higher. Average high for January is 66°F.

We don't have a huge inventory of homes right now, but there are still good properties out there, so if you need to get out of the cold, rain, and snow, feel free to contact me and I'll help you find the right home for you and your family right here in San Diego, also known as Sand Diego and Sun Diego.

OK, OK I get it your weather is great :) I love my 4 seasons in Georgia but right about now with our 4th cancelled day of school due to only 2 inches of snow. I'm ready to head our to Sun Diego! I'll call you to help me find a home :)

PS I had the best cat in the world! His name was Boxcar and he was a grey tabby. Wish I had a picture to share but it's in my heart and I can't scan it!!

Hi Jim-

I love it when vengeance is mine, but heck, I'm a redhead.  What would soothe me into a Zooey-like stupor would be that 98 degree day on April 20th.  AAAHHH!

By the way.  I loved your call for San Diego Buiyers.  There is some really nice pricing right now!

Here in NC, it's been a lot colder than normal and everyone is complaining. We're talking seasonally low temps that are in the mid 40's during the day and high 20's at night, for probably a span of 2 weeks. That is soooo not cold compared to the Northeast, where many of our clients move from. They walk around in shorts in this type of weather. We definitely have seasons here, but the ocean moderates the temperature swings quite a bit. We don't have San Diego "consistency", but we have a great climate.

In Chandler (suburb of Phoenix), the highs have been in the 70s...but looks like we are in for some rain on Sunday or Monday.

Oh, sure.  Trying to make me feel better.  Bah, Humbug.  I'm sitting in the frozen tundra, fly-over land.  And, you sit there, gloating.  Oh, it will come back to haunt you, Ebenezer Scrooge.  (Sorry, leftover Christmas Carol stuff.)

Jim, I had a response that I couldn't put down... I am sitting here in a freezing cold old house with air rushing in through all the old doors and windows, the temp outside is ..... just plain freezing cold. My back porch is now a second fridge/almost freezer. So quit rubbing it in will ya?

I don't begrudge you selling homes in beautiful San Diego, I just don't like you to rub it in!

Hi Jim - Good for you - pretty funny.  All of California is gorgeous and weather is usually pretty wonderful.  In the Sacramento area, our lows are a bit lower and highs a bit higher, but our weather is pretty great too.  I guess we're spoiled, huh?

Hey, everyone.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I have read all the comments, but since this post is rather old, rather than making a comment here in my post to each and every one of you, I'll be by soon to visit each of your blogs and do some reading and commenting. I hope you'll have a nice welcome mat out for me!

As soon as I get this escrow closed on Friday, I hope to get back to being more regular here at ActiveRain rather than waiting until the weekend to do all my posts and then never getting back to them to answer questions and comments.
