A fantastic educational and networking event to say the least, RainCamp NY 2010 (that's "twenty" "ten" Bob) was from what I can tell, a business and maybe even life changing event. I must admit initially I was nervous ActiveRain was just going to "reteach" what we learned in Ambassador training along with some other things we maybe picked up along the way by being active members.
WOW was I wrong.
Some will say if you pick up just one thing from an event like this, it is worth it. I'm not one of those people. I want high value, and for my personal needs, I got it.
Content = Awesome.
I'm utilizing several things I learned from RainCamp already. They instantly became part of the daily routine. Ben Kinney did a superb job and for me solidified some marketing ideas I had been considering before I attended the show. Perfect "fit".
Friendships = Amazing
I felt like a celebrity when I finally got to meet my online friends IRL. Hugs, kisses, boisterous "Hey's!!!!" abounded. I was also introduced to some new friends who I can now follow online.
Networking = Top Notch
Not only are you networking with like-minded people, you are usually networking with professionals that are great at what they do, and that is vital when your name is tied to a referral sent out.
These shots aren't the best but you get the idea!
Listen in here to the words of wisdom from Cindy Jones, Sheldon Neal, and Pat Kennedy.
Great meeting you Steve! Thanks for coming. I'm glad you picked up some extra things. That is always my biggest fear, that our more engaged members might not get as much value. It's nice to hear you got some.
Thanks for putting in the clip of Cindy, Sheldon and Pat. I feel like I have made great friends/associates in the 2 months I have been on Active Rain.... by the way, everyone at Raincamp was outgoing and willing to help.... Excellent content.
Bob - I did indeed. I've already implimented several. I thought Ben was great.
Ellie - You are very welcome! The friendship here is really one-of-a-kind. Brad said it well at lunch when he said, "You know, I know you guys so well I'd hand you keys to my house" ... and yet we don't even know our neighbor's name. :)
Steve - Nice to see the video included here, Steve. I wonder if Pat had me in mind when she mentioned Austin. I can only hope. :) I am looking forward to attending the upcoming Raincamp in Dallas.
Jason - haha. Twenty ten baby. If I recall she mentioned a few locals that made me think of you and other top AR members. That in itself is pretty cool. We can be nationally known!
WELL NOW !!!
This may be the bestest blog ever !! How you captured the full handsomeness of that guy in the middle is astounding !!!!! And of course the two lovely ladies were terrific, but that British guy is who I would want as my Realtor - he sounded fabulous - and did I mention his handsomeness ??? {ReeeeBLOG!!!}
LOLOLOL !!! !!!!!
Steve, One of these days Claude and I will make it to the camp...and hopefully, you will be at that one as well! Nice Spring background you have going on! I am ready for it!!!
BTW - they had a poll on the morning show and the correct way to say it is "Twenty ten" Just thought i'd keep you up to date on what was happening while you were playing in the rain!
All I have heard about this Rain Camp is awesome, awesome, awesome. I will endeavor to make one when it gets closer. I love New York, so this would have been the one I would have traveled to except for the timing.
Steve..Great Blog! Just getting home stayed for the Inman News conference...It was so great to meet you after all this time..Hope to see you in DC in May...:0)
Steve - I am SO looking forward to the Raincamp coming to Dallas in the next 2 weeks. I've been watching and reading all about the other raincamps, and it has really pumped up my excitement.
STEVE: Sensational blog of your attendance at the New York Raincamp. I am so excited about attending the Boston Raincamp on Monday 7-16-10 . Are you coming to Boston? Would ♥ to meet you face to face. AR is a AMAZING community of like-minded professionals THAT ARE WILLING TO SHARE AND CONNECT.

Hi Steve -- nice write up! I loved the December Rain Camp in San Francisco for the same reasons. We're fortunate, aren't we?
