My neighbour is a very energenic person. And She had a birthday yesterday.
She normally starts her day 5 days a week by leaving home before 6:30, where she heads to a favourite restaurant to have coffee and either read the paper or visit. But before she settles down to do that she puts all teh creamers out on the tables for the 20 something tables of this family style restaurant (they buy her coffee). Then she comes home and after a short time the friends start to circle. For example on her birthday she was on the phone from 8-9 then someone came to pick her up for coffee, at 11:30 she was off for her birthday lunch, with friends. Then back home and packing up the numerous boxes of Christmas decorations. Off for dinner with another group of friends. She says this year she is going to cut back, whe will not longer be delivering meals on wheels like she has for the last 20 years. She is going to cut back one table at the flee market where she sells the things people donate and she donates all the proceeds to charity. She does not go every day to the old folks home and visit people but still goes occasionally. Taking people out for outings from there. And the list goes one.
One thing her neighbours have found is you can not out give this little lady. I offered to take her Christmas boxes to her storage for her which she did allow me to do, but she insisted I take either some of her homemade beet pickles or homemade applessauce. In the end She made me take both.
I have known Edna Bruce for about 15 years and she has not slowed one bit. Edna celebrated her 86th birthday yesterday still going strong and giving love to the world around her.
