Filberts (Hazelnuts)

Had the afternoon off so I went out to pick some cherries.  I spent about a half hour and got what the first picture below shows.  Our trees are still loaded.  We dry them, freeze them and eat them fresh.  After taking those pics I thought I would show a few more things going on.

Fresh picked cherries

Cherries still on the trees

Raspberries

English Walnuts

So what do you have in the top and the last photo. Not sure just what I am looking at.

Thanks guys.  Steve, if you hover your cursor over the center of the picture, you will see that the top one is filberts (hazelnuts)  and the bottom one is English walnuts.   When entering the photos I ran into a problem that I couldn't solve, so they are in a different order than I planned.

Never knew what hazelnuts and walnuts looked like on trees.  Wow, those cherries look great. Yummy

Sybil, I am happy to provide education and the cherries are wonderful.  The hardest part is pitting them.  Put away about ten pounds yesterday, some in the dryer, some in the freezer.  Dried cherries, in the middle of winter, are a wonderful thing.  If you find them in the store they are expensive.

Thanks Deborah.  My photography skills have improved in the years I've been home inspecting.  Ya gotta know how to focus to show those little termites!
