This post focuses on points from contributing to Localism.

How?  How can you accumulate points by contributing to Localism?

You earn points for each photo you upload to Localism that meets the guidelines set by Active Rain.  These have changed over time, and some photos posted previously have been deleted - along with the points that went with them - so post with care!

You can earn UNLIMITED points for photos:

First photo: 100 points
Photos 1-10: 50 points
Photos 10+: 25 points

Of my total 237,331 points, 3,375 (about 1.4%) come from 123 photos. 

Another way you used to be able to earn points on Localism was by building communities.  That opportunity no longer exists - but accounts for about 40,000 of my total points - or about 17%.  This serves as a reminder to stay informed of what activities generate points and to fully participate while the opportunity exists.
