This blog is part of a monthly series about the foreclosure market in the Orlando area. My goal is to keep area home owners and buyers educated on how the REO market is recovering or if it is and what deals are out there for both First Time Home Buyers and Investors. Click the link to see Orlando's December Foreclosure Numbers.

Orlando Foreclosure PropertiesArea Number of Homes

Florida 56,284 Bank Owned Homes in the State of Florida

Orange Co 4,560 Bank Owned Homes in Orange County

Seminole Co 799    Bank Owned Homes in Seminole County

These numbers are said to be accurate as of 1/15/10 9:03 am

Numbers seem to be remaining the same but I contribute that to the Holiday moratoriums where banks dont kick people out of homes at that time. I think February's numbers will be high.

I'm betting that this new requirement that banks must go to mediation before they foreclouse on a homestead is just going to again prolong the agony and make things drag out.

I agree with your assessment, Heather. In fact, I see very little to influence it in any way but up (more foreclosures).

Missed you on HGTV, our favorite show. Bet that was fun to do. I've really got a lot out of watching that channel.

Heather, I know that Florida is a big state, but WOW 56,284 is a lot of Bank Owned Homes.
