10 Comments on Haiti Relief efforts combined with recreational activities at Loon Mtn N.H.
Thats great, I think alot of folks are thinking out of the box to get help to Haiti...
Gerry, Some may see this as a marketing ploy...but who cares its a fund raiser, with perks, I hope other places do something creative with their relief efforts as well.
Steve.. Haiti was NEVER a well of country to start with. I can only imagine what it is like now. When I was in Haiti years ago it left an impression that is going to last a lifetime. I think everyone should visit there, to appreciate what we *HAVE* here.
Steve, there are a lot of businesses and organizations that have quickly organized efforts to raise money and supplies for Hati. I just hope and pray that it actually gets to and is used for those in need, and that it does not end up in the hands of those who would use it for their own gain. Seeing some of the reports on the news it is amazing to me how their own people are taking advantage of the situation by charging outrage prices for water, food and gas.
George...everyone wants rapid response, but I have found the ones willing to cheat are faster than the trusted organization. In the resorts case they will raise money that the Red Cross will get for sure.
Hi Steve, this is an excellent idea. There is so much that we can do, and they will need quite a bit of help for a long time to come.
Steve - it is wonderful that the events in your area are stepping up to the plate and organizing relief funds for Haiti! So wonderful to combine the fund raising into community events/things to do!
Leesa... MLK Weekend is a huge ski weekend, it rivals Christmas and February School vacations as the most profitable weekends of the ski season...so this will be a big donation.
Have fun and do good! That is one of the best combinations you can ever find.
Charity starts at home, lets help all our vets and homeless first. How many billions have we sent to Haiti before the disaster and home much more to they get to blow before they take care of themselves.
Most send money out of guilt or why else will you ignore the homeless on the street corner, you call to action by churches across your city. But you will give money to a actor or news agency not realizing that 65 cents of every dollar will not even get to the people that need it.
Can anyone learn from Katrina....I am not heartless I am just smart with my money
