I am wondering if anyone has measured or knows about the success or failure of magnetic signs for the side of your vehicle. I've seen the trend grow quite a bit in my area as of late. I'm always looking for ways to get my name out but I wonder if its worth the 40-50 bucks. It just doesn't appeal to me personally. In my opinion, if I'm looking for an agent or broker, I would ask friends or family first. But then again, I see about 20 cars per day with these signs on them and I'm starting to scratch my head a bit.

The business I came from, we were told that we could basically try any form of advertisement we wanted as long as we could show a measurable result. Whether it was mentioning this commercial or bring in this coupon, you get the idea. I figure with the broad demographics we have access to here on AR, why not pose it to the community.

 Thanks all in advance!

I have two magnetic signs. Red, white and blue and use them everywhere. A top producer told me if you get one referral, it pays for itself 10 times over. People do see it. I am a new agent and it has been cost effective getting my name out. I have jad neighbors say - hey your signs look good. we will see if it pays off.

I have magnets on not only my car but also my wife's car. I put these on two months ago and my wife was approached at Safeway while grocery shopping and asked about the sign and it led to a sale and a listing from the same couple. That one new client was well worth the $150 I spent on magnets for the cars. from here on out, its the cheapest advertising I can do.

Signs on the side bring name recognition.

Signs on the back bring phone calls.

 I have them both places.

I ask virtually everbody that calls where they got my name.  I've gotten several that have "seen your van around town" and quite a few more who tell me they were sitting behind me in traffic and wrote down my phone and website (which contact info is on the sign)

I paid $60.00 for the signs in the picture about six years ago.

About three years ago, I redesigned to the current signs (sorry, no picture) for another $60.00.  The new ones are just little flashier, in the shape of a house with the chimney.

They've way more than paid for themselves.

These magnets serve as a non-intrusive way to tell everyone you encounter what it is that you do.

Marketing studies have shown that most people cross paths with 9 aquantences in a given week. Neither of you knows what the other does, but you have probably chated about the weather or a ball game. The goal is effortless networking. Ensure each of those 9 know your name and that you are in the mortgage business.

Will it pay off immediately? There is no way to tell, it is the same numbers game as any other form of advertising. However, the next time one of your 9 aquaintences is aked by a friend or family member about a mortgage, they will be infinetly more likely to point them your way.

In addition to the effortless networking, you are advertising everywhere you go: Closings, Welcoming customers to their new homes, open houses, ball games, bars, etc... and it costs you at most 1/10th the cost of a billboard at any one of those locations.

Also, you may like to know that your home page always comes up corrupted when I land there. As this is the first impression people get of you you may like to either fix or or get AR to go so!

Have a great day - be propserous.
