The Castle Is Under Siege ~ Massachusetts We Are Depending On You

The Kennedy seat is under siege.

The coveted Senatorial seat from Massachusetts, l
ong held by the Kennedy family, and thought to be impervious from challenge.  Most recently occupied for 46 years by the "revered" Lion of the Senate, Ted Kennedy.

No person or family owns or is entitled to a seat in the United States Senate.

  • Did I say entitlement?
  • What an affront to even whisper that a seat in the Senate was someone's due.
  • That the people may OWE it to a person or party.

Massachusetts has been liberal and a Democrat stronghold for generations.  Everyone thought this race would be a shoe in.  A walk in the park.  A done deal.

Along comes a challenger who appears any easy defeat for the big political machine.  Almost without notice he began gaining ground.  It seemed the more outrageous the deals cut in Washington over health care, the further Brown gained in momentum.

  • Every time some shady Chicago style political shenanigan happened, Brown got a bump.

The people of Virginia and New Jersey woke up and defeated the Democrat control.

Could it be the good people of Massachusetts have finally had enough?

  • Are you strong enough to see it through?  I believe you are.

  • Massachusetts - stand up - speak without fear - lead the way and stop this Socialist Administration from controlling our very lives.

America looks to you on Tuesday January 19, 2010 to LET THE TEA PARTY BEGIN!

I agree with Bonnie that the seat belongs to no one and I agree with John that we do need term limits in both Congress and the Senate.  Also the legislative branch needs to go back to being a part-time job (like most of the legislatures in this country) and as it was before Truman made them full-time.

Joseph,  Nice to see you comment.  I just heard this morning that Coakley's husbands union just endoresed Brown.  That must be a kick in the teeth.

Will,  Comment #1 was great.  Wallace does cut to the chase.

We are all hoping this will be the turning point America needs.  It is no longer a party issue - it is the future of the country we love.

Brian,  Let's also hope that Obama's visit produced the same results as his visits to NJ and Va.  Perhaps his Midas touch has gotten tarnished.

Kevin,  I posted this in Boston localism as well.  The good  people of Mass have seen the light. If not, Brown would not be even close at this point.  As long as ACORN does not bus them from grave yards there may be a chance.  We are all watching and praying.

Dana,  I'm all for term limits.  Our founding fathers had that vision as well.  That way we get the best and brightest.  Those who are there to do a job without feathering their nests.

Mike,  Let's see what kind of a handicapper you are.  I'll be glad for anything that puts him over.

Should be interesting to see what happens.  It will definitely shift the Senate in a big way.  Seems like those people in Massachusetts just love letting people own a Senate seat.  John Kerry has been there for going on 30 years now.  Time for a change.

How is it GWB's fault that the state is in a mess it's in?  Ted Kennedy's been their senator for ages taking care that any and all kinds of pork get thrown their way.

Love that Coakley's husband's union endorsed Scott Brown.  LOLOL

Looking forward to watching the news Tuesday.  Folks, say a special prayer for our country tonight.

We need to take back the Mass seat.  It is the people's seat, not Kennedy's.

Bonnie, I am praying, praying, praying!  I even pulled up the weather to see where that stood.  It appears they are going to have snow.

Marchel,  Snow won't bother them in Mass.  At least I hope not.

By the way, I'm getting some dates together.  I'll be posting a blog about it.  March 22 is Orlando.
