One of the Most Under Utilized Training Programs

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Missy Caulk TEAM

RE/MAX International is a great company to work with and be affiliated with. The training and education is beyond belief. One of the most under utilized perks we have is all the training available. No one holds your hand to use these programs, but they are available and a tremendous resource for all the RE/MAX agents.

There are numerous ways to learn at the RE/MAX University. We have had our own RE/MAX Satellite Network (RSN) for years, with T.V's in every office, where you can come in and take a class or watch a program. You can also just get  the Dish and tune in at home to watch great programming. I used the Satellite Network to get my ABR Designation many years ago. I also used it for more extensive training on OUTLOOK.

One of best new features is ATOD, or Agent Training on Demand. This is where you can download onto your I-Pod a program or you can just watch from your laptop or computer. Sometimes, I just minimize the program and listen while I respond to leads or blog.

There is also classroom learning where you can go to Denver or go to one of the states sponsoring a Global Training Seminar. They are held around the country at different regions.

So back to my original thoughts. If all this is available, why is this so under utilized ? I know we're busy, everyone in our line of work usually is, if they are in sales. One of my biggest complaints is un educated agents. Urrrrrrrrrrr......

Here are all these unbelievable ways to learn and grow, so what say you ?

Any reasons you fellow RE/MAX agents don't invest more time in these training sessions?

Perhaps you do ? I would love to hear your thoughts on this ?

I completely agree with you!   This is an absolutely awesome tool for us RE/MAX-ers.   I have just recently discovered the ATOD, and our broker did a big presentation about REMAX University and ATOD.  I will be using every bit I can.   The REMAX site and Design Center is fabulous too.   There are wonderful sources there that are FREE !!!  I am so glad I moved to REMAX in 2002, it's the best business decision I have made.  I will finally block out time, and go to the Convention in Vegas next year.

Hi Missy,  It is hard to get too much training.   It is a matter of prioritizing and goal setting to make the time avialable.

 Have a great day.  Andy

Missy - it always amazes me when companies offer great training and agents don't take advantage.  You have to keep pushing though....education is key!

Ines, I believe education is so important, just like technology. You must utilize both to continue to grow and develop in this industry.

Thesa, love it !

Education is incredibly important and unfortunately seems to get the "short end of the stick" in the hustle and bustle of the real estate industry.  We tend to neglect, at our peril, what we need the most in a rapidly changing business environment.

With all the great programs that RE/MAX has to offer, it's hard to stay up.  I just finished two days of continuing ed in our office.  One of our brokers just became certified to teach and we took advantage of it.  Still in the middle of Brian Buffini, we are swamped.  Any new class I'm sending someone else!  I'm trained out!  LOL!

Training is crucial in all sides of this business.  While learning off the cuff and being thrown to the wolves is all nice & dandy & splendid.....we are professionals and consumers rely on us, so it would be nice if we were trained professionals.  Sounds like Re/Max, which I'm familiar with here in Pa as well, has numerous opportunities for agents to take advantage of their tools & training.  Good work Missy!

Jason, thanks I enjoy reading your posts. Too many agents and lenders are thrown to the wolves and it does hurt all of us professionally.

I do take advantage of the training.  This is how I found out about Active Rain.  I am so glad I joined RE/MAX 1 1/2 years ago.  The name recognition is worth it but then you get all of this training too!

The more I use these RE/MAX exclusive services the more impressed I become with the direction that RE/MAX is headed. They are making major strides to become even further "Above The Crowd".

Missy - I LOVE having RSN available.  Last year I completed ABR courses using it and this week I'm scheduled for some CRS courses.  I think it's awesome that we have the ability to "Get Smart" from the comfort of our own home or office.

Just learned about Howard Britton through my mom(35 year veteran in Dallas).  Evidently the #1 Agent in Caldwell Banker nationwide was indicted yesterday for tax evasion.  Her name is Eleanore Mallory Sheets.  Have you heard or met her?
