Switch Up Your Fitness Routine

By
Real Estate Agent with Pavao Real Estate

Are you bored with your fitness routine?

Switch it up!

I switch my fitness routine up every 4-6 weeks, I get bored really easy & this helps me stay motivated. Not only does it help keep me motivated but, it also keeps my body challenged.

How do I know when its time to change?

When I start to struggle with getting through an entire workout, I know I need to re-evaluate my plan.

My current fitness routine

M-W-F

1 hour cardio/Abs

T-TH

15 min cardio warm up

3/4 sets of 12-15 reps

legs/upper body

3/4 different leg exercises

push/pull on opposite days

45 min cardio to finish off

Saturday, is outdoor day!

Tennis

Walking

lunges on the beach

volleyball

Hopefully, this weekend will be biking!

Anything that keeps me outdoors and moving!

So what does your workout look like...? Need to more inspiration Check out The Active Rain Fit Club!

Hi Suzanne;

actually you are supposed to change your fitness routine ever 6 weeks or so. It "shocks" the muscles! i think it tricks them or something.

I find that every day just will not last for me.  I do cardio and weight training every other morning before I start the day.  The gym is pretty empty, except a few regulars in my age group.  I have to push myself to get out the door. Once I get in the car I am good.

Well I agree wtih Susie....I am sweating at the thought...LOL.  I have a room full of equipment.  Bio Force - Treadmill - Pilates Reformer - The Bean - Stepper - and of course the regular gardening and swimming pool I consider exercise!  The best Tip is having someone to do it with.  Diane Terry, and AR Buddy of mine, would come over 3 times a week at 6 a.m. and we would work out and talk about business.  Of course as the summer hit, she felt the pressure of time as we all do in this business.  DIANE, we need to ge back on TRACK.  Thanks for the post.  As you can see it worked!

Randy,

Sometimes, the hardest part is getting there. The morning works best for me then I don't have to worry about it the rest of the day. Thanks for stopping by. :)

Stacie,

Now, I can't find anyone who wants to workout with me! LOL! I joined hubby's gym, but he hasn't been in weeks. My sister gave up after one workout and I went soooo easy on her! I prefer working out in the gym alone anyway it keeps me focused on me. :)

Suzanne..... I get bogged down on the computer in the morning and time disappears.  Usually run in the afternoon.... ( multi-task to work on my tan ).

A heat wave is three days over 90.... Do you get that warm so close to the water?

Dan,

Wake up and run before it gets to hot!

I'm lucky where I am it is perfect usually 10 degrees cooler, I notice the difference when I head to the office which is 20 miles inland.

I agree with changing your routine every so often. Not only does it help alleve the boredom, but you'll find that your muscles will also appreciate it.

Suzanne:

Cool, another fitness buff. I am at the gym 5-6 days a week (spin classes at least 4). I, too, find that making changes is important - I get bored too easily. Don't you find that keeping fit helps with keeping a work'life balance? And managing the stress? When I don't go it really bothers me - I treat it like any other appointment.

I agree with you Suzanne.  I have to constantly rotate or I will become bored.  It looks like you have an awesome routine.  You are definitely a motivator for the group!
