Stough Canyon Nature Center
Literally nestled in the Verdugo Mountains, the Stough Canyon Nature Center is located at the top of Walnut Ave (2300 Walnut Ave, Burbank CA 91501). The Nature Center has interpretive and educational displays that inform visitors of the native plants and animals in our local habitat. There are both permanent and temporary exhibits with information on geology, insects, environmental conservation, Native American history, and astronomy. The Nature Center is the focal point for many individuals and groups utilizing our local trails and nature programs.
Stough Canyon Trails - Hiking & Mounting Biking - Dogs allowed
Beginning at the top of Walnut Avenue, near the Nature Center, the fire road ledas to the Verdugo Mountainway Trail. The Verdugo Mountainway is an extensive trail system which extends from the Sun Valley area south to Glendale's Brand Park and to the northeast leading to Tujunga dn La Crescenta. Hiking and mountain biking are permitted on these trails. Pet friendly.

Starting again in January 2010 - Astronomy Clug, Thursdays 6:30pm, for ages 8 years and up.. Join the sidewalk astronomers and learn all about the stars, planets and other celestial objects. Learn to make your own Dobsonian telescope. (materials llist available upon request)
