12 Comments on Google as a Lead Strategy
I find that blogging works for me. Sure I place down from those who paid, but when I do a search I always look for someone who came up because of what they have done, not because they bought a lead.
Steven L. Smith ,That is why the organic search is so much more valuable - according to the article - the dreaded lead aggregators are now focusing their efforts on this segment

Marlene Gebhardt - Welcome to the Rain. Please don't get discouraged - allow your blogging to be an outlet to share what you know about your market and real estate in general. I would suggest you check out some of the groups - including the NEWBIE group - lots of good information there.
I have written more than one article about the impact of Google and ActiveRain has had on my business personally - and yes, it is rather easy to do and you can do it to - you just have to be consistent. Think of this as part of your daily business plan - it is that important and you too will be rewarded.

I've been preaching this for two years now! Don't feed the lead generation machine. These slim balls have taken what we used to do as a profession, find buyers and sellers and make money doing that to making us pay for leads upfront that don't pan out 99% of the time.
We need to create our own lead generation and create loyal clients if we want to make it in Real Estate.
John - I prescribe to the same philosophies as that Inman News article. Blogging is a great way to increase web traffic. The article also pointed out that longer search phrases in Google's Adwords is also affective. If any of you ActiveRainers have not looked heavily into the power and complexity of Google's Adwords I suggest that you look into it. Depending on the size of your monthly advertising budget and quality of your website it can bring you quality leads. That said, you can also waste a lot of money if you don't know what you are doing.
Todd Clark (Realtor), GRI (Washington Co, Beaverton, Oregon) - You've got it, now spread the word - DON'T PAY FOR LEADS!
Ryan Martin - Windermere Real Estate - AdWords are great, but with an effective blogging campaign, you can save your money all together. For the past 6 months, ActiveRain has delivered me more business than I could handel - and quality business at that!
Loreena Yeo - Realtor, Frisco TX proudly serving Frisco Home Sales - Congratulations on making it work for you!
SETH CALLEN - I'm curious as to how long it actually took for it to work for you?
Thanks everyone, now have a Blessed Day,

I saw this 2007 post....I was just in the process of paying for leads but I have decided since I read this I'm not. I am going to spend my time blogging about my community and see if that works. Thanks for the advice.
