WHEW! IT'S ALMOST OVER!
What you ask is almost over? Blue Monday; that's right, that is what they call the third Monday in January.
What is wrong with the third Monday in January and why is everyone depressed on this day every year? Well researchers say that traditionally it is the time we realize our New Years resolutions went south and we didn't, instead of greeting cards in the mail we are now receiving the bills from all our purchases, and on top of it all, it is probably the worst weather with grey clouds looming over our heads!
To get over this depressing feeling, the same researchers recommend, getting some exercise, get outdoors in search of some sun and fresh air and plan some activities so you have something to look forward to like making a Blue Monday Drink.
Enjoy the Blue Monday drink and remember, it will be all over tomorrow when it will be the third Tuesday in January!
Sitting here with my bottle, uh, glass of wine now! If we could get some sunshine in Indiana we might be a little less depressed.
Thank goodness the sun was shining today, or the prediction might have come true!
Pinehurst, North Carolina...
Monday, January 18, 2010 - 62 Degrees, clear blue skys and 43 Championship golf courses in a 15-mile radius... Just another day in paradise.
Best regards,
Wayne and Lynda Gomillion
PS. Wish you were here.
Lisa, we will try and send some your way, not sure what we had today, inside all day at the Re/Max Kick Start Rally, but we have above temperatures and no snow so we are all happy.
That's great Pat, send some here and to Lisa in Indiana!!
Whoo Hoo! Lucky you Waybe and Lynda, Lisa in Indiana and us need some of that 62 degree Sun, send it on up please!
Al & Peggy - I've never heard of Blue Monday before. Thankfully there is nothing blue about my Monday. Have a great night!
I heard this on the radio this morning. And that drink sound very potent. I ended up having dinner at Joe Badali's with a couple ladies from my office. See you tomorrow for day 2.
Al & Peg, that's the first I've heard of a blue Monday. I'd laugh if I weren't so upset with my Visa bill.
A&P, this is the first time that I have heard of this. Goes to show you...
Al and Peggy - My New Year's resolutions are still in progress, just taking a bit longer than expected for other unplanned reasons, but they are still moving along.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you are providing for our hot lunch tomorrow (Wednesday). Very convenient - first I'll be attending a course in the morning then walking down the hall to have lunch and a longer meeting to help keep your business running smoothly. :)
Aw man I missed Blue Monday, I was having too good a day. Please let me know well in advance as to when I should be down?
Hi Al and Peggy..I was writing and offer which was accepted, Blue Monday, I hope not :O))
Al & Peggy, This is the one time I'm glad I'm late in my comments...I didn't know I was supposed to be depressed yesterday. I AM glad it's over and I didn't even know :)!
Al and Peggy, well I have a solution for "Blue Monday" don't open the bills until "Blue Tuesday" :) :)
Only blue skies for you right Michelle now that the space heater is stashed away!
Love Joe Baldali's Jenny and yes already for DAY TWO!!!! You were listening to 1010 instead of XM too!!
Oh Jim, just laugh anyway! We hadn't heard of Blue Monday either til we listened to the same radio station as Jenny!
Us too Darren, just walking on sunshine.....
.....it goes to show us Michael that you stay true to your Motivational Mondays and don't worry about what the news says!!
That's ok Marc, as long as the resolutions are still in play! Hmmm, something is wrong with this picture, we are getting a cold lunch while you enjoy a hot lunch, hmmmm......
Nothing could hold you down Ed and glad you only heard about it until after it was over. Wouldn't want to ruin your day!
Fred, writing an offer? Sounds like you are having a 'green' as in cash Monday. Good luck with it!
Glad you were late Carole, though we did post it late Monday, so it didn't ruin anyone's day! LOL!
That plan works for us George, except, we don't even want them on Tuesday!! We'll just go for another walk and make plans for lunch!
Now I know the "reason" the day was so miserable Monday... Thanx (I think)
I've never heard of Blue Monday before, but it makes sense. I grew up in a family that didn't buy things they didn't need, so there were no extravagant bills arriving in January from Christmas spending. Of course, my Christmas presents were always shoes, socks, shirts, and pants. Boring for a young boy.
Well thankfully Chris, it only comes once a year and it is over!
Very boring for a little tyke, but great for the parents paying all the bills.
