Having gone from a corporate world into full-time real estate a couple of months ago still takes some adjusting. I met and keep in touch with about 200 students when studying for real estate. My two older sisters also went to the real estate classes with me and are licensed. Yet none of them are working in real estate due to a variety of reasons from busy taking care of their family to having another full time job.
As I quickly realize that real estate is a marketing game where you need to connect with a certain number of contacts to get a certain number of leads to start transaction and to hopefully close a number a transactions. I soon found that real estate is lonely if you don't have a group of people to support you. I met top producing agents who have nice cars, homes, all the technology gadgets and a big bank account. Yet they neglected their spouces, childrens, family and friends. So many relationship went sour due to bad real estate transactions.
Yes, we might be able to success doing real estate by ourselves, but is there any point at the end with all the success and money? There were a few transactions where I skipped because the clients want to do something not legal and I didn't want to be involve. But besides that I really believe that in order to really success and prospect, you really can't do real estate alone. There will come a time when we need help from top executives from another industry as well as the local restaurant waitress. I just picked up a transaction from a lady working at Target.
In real etate we somethings get transactions where we least expect them and that is why we can't be loners but more of a people person.
