That is very similar to what we have here in Port Townsend.  Interesting to hear about another area's tax rate.  Our rate is growing way too fast.  Evaluations were averaged over 4 year period this year and due to the 35% appreciation in 2006, everyones taxes have gone up while property values have gone back to 2003 levels.  Bummer!  And the city and county are still over budget by a lot.
