Flag_quesitonEvery client we work with has different real estate blog development needs.  Often the concern is, “Do I need to replace the real estate website I already have in order to incorporate a blog into my marketing?”

The answer: “It depends.”

First, a quick look at the difference between the website, blog and blogsite:

Website: Standard online presence; homepage, secondary pages, forms, listings etc.
Blog: Database of articles appearing in reverse chronological order, sortable by category, keyword and date.
Blogsite: The combination of the above.

Let is be known, that I am a fan of the real estate blogsite.
There are many obvious benefits:

A single root domain (yourrealestateblogsite.com) for the website and blog.
One branded look and feel.
One hosting service.
One development company.

But it needs be explained that dumping your current real estate website to replace it with a real estate blogsite is not always the best option.

Having both a solid real estate website and a fully functional, regularly updated blog is a perfectly sound solution for your needs as a modern real estate agent.

Dear Real Estate Tomatoe,

The value of education contained within in your comment is so powerful and I hope that enough agents will actually download the information. Any real estate professional must be making plenty of decisions for online marketing success. Having said that we should feel good about making plenty of decisions about our overall marketing plan because to acheive effective success you need to be in plenty OF PLACES ON the INTERNET. It is very common and very much a necessity for every real estate professional to have 10-15 different places their clients homes can be found on the Internet. Getting your clients homes and your brand able business the effective exposure needed to make money on the Internet is a very difficult task, yet very easy as well. The Internet is just a TOOL for your business. Thanks for your input.

In Success,

 Shane Corey

Mighty Tomato, I like the idea of the hybrid.  It makes sense.

Ardell, I thought you would welcome the extra exercise with your end-of-month goals and all! =)  (pssst...you're worried for naught!)

I guess I finally came to terms with the term "blogsite!"  That's where I'm heading.
