I managed to get on a local "top producer's" mailing list. I discovered that today when I got her e-mail. I probably left my card at one of her listings or maybe she bought my e-mail address from a local source.
Here is the text of the e-mail: Please call me if you have any questions. Now is the time to sell AND buy!!! Who do you know who wants to buy or sell? I love referrals.
That's it. That is all it said. There was a black and white PDF of her latest snail mail to her "farm". Black and White...really? Does a color PDF cost too much to send?

It was a newsletter about how strong the market ended in 2009. Yes...yesterday's news.
I've seen her business cards and they say, "I 'heart' Referrals" on the back of them. I've seen her at the grocery store. I've seen her in a lot of places...a lot. I've never seen her name on a purchase contract though. Hmmmmmm. Coincidence?
Compare that to me; I work By Referral Only. I only work for my friends and the people they care about. I provide Silver Platter Service to my friends and I work hard to exceed their expectations, even if they are a return client...I still work hard to exceed their expecations - every day!
I simply cannot imagine changing my philosophy to "I heart referalls" and feeling good about that.
I'm looking forward to seeing all the great input on this point of discussion.
