Be In A Hurry To Wait....

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Rice Prprty Mgmnt & Rlty, LLC, South Holland, IL 481.010183

We are a hurried Nation.  Rush is our daily resolve, with impatience contending to replace the virtue of patience. Technology is defined as speed, with lines formed to snatch the newest birth of it's womb.  We have succumbed to mechanisms.... programmed manifestations to assist us in remaining dull of hearing.

We have failed to set a watch over our mouths, allowing the spewing of perverseness to taint the exosphere... the onset of materialization of woes.

Granted the responsibility over death and life through the power of the tongue, we choose our fate  upon every iota uttered.  We have released unpremeditated cursings or blessings upon substance...  Substance that will yield evidence in a short while....

Be in a hurry to....  WAIT!

Whoso keeps his mouth and his tongue, keeps his soul from troubles Proverbs 21:23

I believe that we forget that we have the power to speak blessings and curses over everything. It's a daily task in this hurried world to tame the tongue and speak blessings as we rush about. Things are moving faster and faster and propelling us to the end, just as it's foretold. Imagine-- it's been a little over 100 years since cars a flight-- and a little over 40 since walking on the moon.

Until the last one hears... :-)

Diane, Isn't it a shame that we're all in such a hurry and sometimes miss the MOMENTS.  Who is it that said all good things come if we wait?  I don't happen to think waiting for something is such a bad idea, you treasure it that much more when it arrives.

Diane, Be in a hurry to wait is a great line. Glad to see you back at with your prose. I have been having to enjoy your writings in the messages...which are also great to read!

Hi Rebecca -  You added more to think about.... and it IS a daily task.  Some of us.... (me) need to wear tape over mouth as reminder to SHUT UP!

Carole:  Well said, and waiting is an art not learned overnight.  It takes practice!

Jane:  Thank you so much! You are pulling upon me you know, urging... it's coming out little by little!

Mary!  It took YOU to say that! Oh dear!  No wonder we are so E MOTION AL!

Diane we are a nation that demands instant gratification.  The problem is that most are never gratified, because they are in a hurry to get to the next thing that they think will gratify them.

I read your blog a little differently. I got, be in a hurry to wait with what you say! Maybe that's what I needed to hear! How many times has haste got me into a hole that I dug for myself. Thanks, Diane.

The auto repair shop that I take my car to has a sign at the counter that says, "Would you like me to put your rush job in front of all the other rush jobs?" I laugh everytime I'm in there.

Hugh:  Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure...  Thank God for His faithfulness

George:  Sad, but truthful.  You have said it plainly,  describing the souls in pursuit of things which we are warned not to go after.

Irene:  Are you?  Well, it's OK to get in a hurry.... as long as you are rush to wait!

Deena:  You understood just fine.  We do tend to hear what we need... which is meant just for us don't we?   I meant it as you received it.  This word was birthed after a fore thought of what was spoken out of MY mouth.  I agonized over IF what was shared SHOULD have been shared.  After my bout of self rebuke, this is what came forth.

Hi Jim!  Now, that's a "reality check" sign! I'm sure it eases the pressure off the mechanics too!

Hurry up and wait... lol... Diane - great post!

As I've aged, I've learned not get get hung by my own tongue :) and instead to claim what I proclaim.

Have an awesome weekend

Sincerely,

Grace

An unbridled tongue has the ability to cause great damage, so never be in a hurry to speak ill of anyone.

Such an important reminder in this day of instant wants. Patience is a virtue I seek and struggle with almost daily - not only with words, but actions. There have been many verses shared and I also like "For by your words you will be justified; and by your words you will be condemned." Matthew 12:37. Then there's always what my grandparents used to say...Look before you leap and Think before you speak :)

Carol... I KNOW exactly what you mean about the struggle.... we have been programmed to speak our minds... now we must UNTRAIN ourselves.... it will take discipline... Tape on mouth?
