Remote Alert! 4.5 acres Waterfront I want to visit before it's sold!
This latest little hideaway is another I'd love to go see someday. I've sold other properties in this area and my younger son Brian is currently working for the buyers. It isn't just missing my youngest son that makes me want to go there.
Right now, I'm on the LeConte ferry as I type this in Microsoft Word. We are just passing Sullivan Island and this property is right on the other side. Yes, the mommy in me keeps looking out the window, wondering what my 17-year-old is up to, but the sun is shining and I'd rather be walking along the beach talking to him and soaking up the sun and picking up seashells. Instead, I'm on the slow boat to Haines to show a few listings.
Eldrid rock and the lighthouse look stunning today, and I wish I hadn't left my camera down on the luggage cart. Fortunately I've gotten plenty of photos of this area over the last several years.
Back to what makes this property so special!
There are two cabins and a few outbuildings so it would be ideal if your friends like to visit. Take the nicer cabin for yourself. Allow friends and family to stay in the other!

The rear cabin is well equipped with a propane stove/oven, propane refrigerator, sitting area and a sleeping loft. Both cabins are simple structures suitable for a few days or a few months of remote luxury. Hardy souls may want to stay longer but keep in mind winters are harsh. This area received over 20 feet of snow last winter. Granted, that was a record, but Mother Nature is a harsh woman.

The natural meadows in this area are full of wildflowers and strawberries. Wild strawberries are tiny, sweet creations - pure honey. If you like your berries a bit larger, I would suggest bringing in some Tri-Star strawberries. If you plant them together with the wild berries, eventually they will cross. Then you get the best of both worlds... the world's sweetest strawberries with enough size to make picking large quantities much easier! Wild strawberries should be picked before they get red for best quality.
Access would be by small boat or float plane. Fishing is fair, but there are plenty of crab and shrimp. Very few bears have been spotted in the area, and they've all been smaller black bears, not grizzlies. The beach line is at the north end of the property but because of the deep meadows, sun exposure is excellent. Beyond the beach, soils are moderate silt, working back into peat. Take a little of each with some beach sand, crushed dry seaweed and you can have an ideal loam for a productive garden. The season is rather short, but with a little ingenuity and creativity the season can be extended.
