Founded in 1772, the delightful community of Historic Ellicott City, Maryland is only 15 miles away from Baltimore City. It is the County seat of Howard County, noted as the third wealthiest County in the USA. The Historic District, commonly known as "Old Town" mostly refers to a section of the street just over the Patapsco River and out of Baltimore County. This is known as Main Street.

Main Street has so much to offer shoppers, diners, history buffs and train enthusiasts.

Throughout the year there are wonderful activities to encourage people to visit. The business community is very active in promoting the area. Christmas on Main Street is a delight.

Ellie, what a great video tour!

When I first moved to Maryland five years ago Ellicott City was my favorite place to go. The little coffee shop down there has tea from Montana in it!!! (My home state)
