3 Comments on Neighbors Tip Leads to Arrest of Burglary Suspect
Robert...you are so correct, security is needed more so these days than previously. We are very secured as posted about earlier on our blog; however, here is a funny story: about 9 years ago our area experienced a lengthy outage; couldn't get into the garage; couldn't use door keys [screens locked]; dogs were barking & carrying on [we had NOT set security because of these dogs]; SO, Sal went to his office window that is enclosed within a fenced & alum. awning; got on a ladder that we still store there; opened the "Cat door"-after 2 of them had to come out and 'see us'; broke the latch on one of the windows; took out the screen; crawled through the window onto his desk; came around and manually opened the garage door for us. The Dogs, the expensive burglar deterrents only wanted to go outside where they continued to bark. What a scene--thankfully no neighbor saw this take place. However, after all was settled and 5 hrs into the blackout, the thought that anyone could have done this & NO ONE would have reported it. Incidentally, we have removed that "cat door" window.
Barb,
GREAT STORY!!
