Something very interesting is going on with regards to the President. It would seem that very much like "The Gore Effect" which produces record cold temperatures when the former Vice-President plans to speak at a Global Warming event (you can Google it if you don't believe me), "The Obama Effect" seems almost guaranteed to make Democrats lose seats.
While he was still believing his own press, the President made trips to New Jersey and Virginia to help the Dems "win" those safe Governorships. Well that didn't work out too well now did it?
Next he went to Mass where he delivered an excellent (really - it was) speech in support of Coakley, health care and Ted Kennedy. We all saw what happened to that on Tuesday night.
Now today comes word that the President is heading to Nevada to stump for his Senate buddy, Harry Reid. You remember Harry, right?
He was the one who said of Candidate Obama that he could be successful because he had a light skin and didn't speak with a negro dialect unless he wanted to. Yeah - THAT guy!
Anyway, it would seem that Harry is in trouble when it comes to re-election to the United States Senate (something about not listening to the people has lead to a 30 point poll deficit, but Harry likes deficits. Well he likes the American people to have them for sure).
So the solution? Bring in the President. And Harry - I hope it is just as successful for you as it was for the others (some data is suggesting that the size of each swing was -3% AFTER the President had stumped).
As for you Mr President - if there's anything I can do to help you get to all these tight races, then please let me know.
