Newly Licensed agent: "WOO-HOO! I just got my License - NOW what?" (Also pertinent to ANYONE starting or ramping up ANY business) #in

By

Whether you're a newly licensed agent or a seasoned veteran looking to re-launch your business, these fundamentals are the key.

Create and Build a database . . .

Feed it EVERY day . . .

Communicate with everyone in it in a systematic way . . .

Service any leads that come . . .

Your database IS your business!

Without a database, you are practicing a hobby.

This database can be anything from a list of everyone you know on legal pads . . . to . . . a rolodex . . . to . . . an excel spreadsheet . . . to . . . an email contacts file . . . to . . . a full blown contact manager program.

Use whichever one you WILL use on a daily basis.

Don't make this any more difficult than you have to.

The important thing is that you DO it.

Do what?

LEAD GENERATE!

Have purposeful business conversations with lots of people every day and track these conversations over time so you know that no-one in that database will fall through the cracks.

After all . . . Everyone you know forgets your business every 16 days, and it's up to YOU to remind them.

It's not THEIR fault if they do business with someone else, it's YOURS because we all know that ALL relationships are available . . . People inherently love the one they're with (or the one who is most present when they are ready to transact business).

Move yourself from E (Entrepreneurial) to P (Purposeful) by acknowledging that you ARE in BUSINESS and not just dipping your toe in this new adventure.

Barriers to entry in this (or any) business are all figments of our collective imaginations.

It doesn't take much capital to build a strong database . . .

and if your purpose for being in business is something you believe in FULLY yourself, your passion will fuel success and be contagious.

There are no inhibitions whatsoever when you truly believe that you can serve your clients better than any other person on the planet . . .

When you believe in yourself at this level, Lead Generation becomes viral . . . but it's really messy and the ceiling of achievement is very low if you're not attending to the fundamentals:

Create and Build a database . . .

Feed it EVERY day . . . (Lead Generate)

Communicate with everyone in it in a systematic way . . .

Service any leads that come . . .

Dream Big - Aim High - Follow Passion - Take ACTION!

It all begins with who knows you :-)

I'm just sayin',

Best,

b

Thanks for the post Barry!  What have you found to be a good database to use to keep in touch with clients and systematically keep your presence?  I use the "auto-notification" from the MLS, however it doesn't give the client the personal touch that I think so many want...they end up feeling like just a recepiet of another mass email campaign.

Great advice for newbies or oldies wanting to get it together again. The basics never go out, you always need them as the base of your business.
