It is most certainly true that AR often provides the biggest laugh of the day for me. Such was the case yesterday when I read a blog and comments regarding education in the Great State of Texas. The subject matter is of little relevance here, but what made me laugh so hard was the number of spelling and grammatical errors that we were forced to endure so that we could arrive at the author's quite ridiculous point - which was to attack the ENTIRE State with the words "that's why people from Texas sound so ill-informed".

Is that a racist comment regarding Texans? It certainly sounds similar to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid when talking about the President and his lack of a "negro dialect".

Anyway - as if all that wasn't bad enough, the author then decided the best way to deal with Texans standing up to defend their State and to point out the number of errors in the original blog, was in fact to DELETE the comments. Truly funny!

Regular visitors to my blog know who I am. They know I am a political person who doesn't hide that fact while earning my living by selling real estate. They also know that my daughters are the two most important people in my life. They probably also know that both of them are in college - the younger one having just arrived last Fall in the Honors Program at Florida State University (banner above is a link from fsu.edu).

Education is CRUCIAL to our future. I am a HUGE believer in education and in fact from the moment of my first daughter's birth, job #1 for me has always been to ensure she received the best education I was able to afford to give her. That task was doubled 22 months later when my second daughter arrived. I could not be more proud of them. I know one thing for sure however. Even though they use a whole other language while texting, they would NEVER allow anything they had written to be seen in public with the number of errors we all witnessed yesterday. And they would NEVER shy away from saying "oops" if they did perhaps allow one to slip through.

Edukasion iz vry inpotant!

That's why I try to learn something new every day. And when I do I say "thank you" to the person who enlightened me. That's how normal people behave. We can only hope that those giving people in our industry a bad name in these pages will at least have the decency to post their ignorance on "members only" blogs in the future.

Simon - I saw the post in question, obviously, since I was the one who took the time to point out the 16 errors in spelling and grammar therein.  I certainly agree with your thesis here - education is supremely important.  Incidentally, one of the first things I teach my agents is not to shy away from accepting blame when they mess up.  A sincere apology goes a long way when I make a mistake.

Simon, I read the post, and was going to correct her, but since I refuse to comment on her blogs, I just let it fall to the ground.  Her ignorance is supreme.

Simon - I don't think it was racism. Texans aren't a race, but, they are a breed unto themselves. So I guess that could be called breedism. Congrats on your daughters, and kudos for keeping that commitment.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, I believe that this is a rehash of something she wrote last year.

Oh Simon - You know liberals have no facts supporting their thesis - they only resort to name calling - but they have to be careful calling Texans dumb - especially when the liberal in question would fail a third grade spelling contest - and now that she can't cut and paste - what is she going to do now?

We can also speak.  Looking forward to writing a blog on this particular subject.

Sometimes I have a few typos here and there, but to write a blog about how CRAPPY the Texas school system is and have said blog littered with errors, is also funny to me.  Yes that was a run on sentence.

I also noticed this person said they used to live in my great state of Texas, glad you are no longer here!!!

Read between the lines - it was not an attack on TEXAS itself - but an attack upon the people who have historic patriotic beliefs that haven't changed - freedom!

Ok, you got me Nick!! LOL  I was reading the titles and saw all the words spelled strangely and HAD to read the blog.

While I don't know what blog you refer to, if someone makes a value judgment on an entire state, they are just plain stupid.  How could an educated person take that judgment seriously?

My guess is that the writer of such nonsense was attempting to extract verbal revenge against Texas AR folks.
