KnowEm.com helps You Capture & Manage Your Social Network Brand

I recently came across a relatively new start-up that is gaining some traction in social media circles.

The brain child of SEO/Web Developer Barry Wise, KnowEm.com was developed to assist everyone - from individuals to Fortune 500 companies - in discovering where their names, brands, or trademarked terms are available (or stolen) on Social Media networks. KnowEm will not only help you secure your name across the vast social media landscape but we can also show you how to contact each site in order to have the name released and returned to you.

capture and manage your social network brand with knowem

KnowEm constantly updates and adds new sites to their vast database of social sites. The next Facebook, Twitter or MySpace is already out there or could be coming soon - do you know which one it will be?

KnowEm offers a subscription service (Brand Protection Program) to ensure that you and your brand will not have to worry about it. As new sites emerge they will make sure that your flag is already planted and you will not have to worry about dealing with a squatter or someone who is misrepresenting your social media identity.

On KnowEm's site, brand owners can instantly check the availability of their branded usernames and keywords on more than 330 social media networks (for free). KnowEm returns a list of social networks where the brand is and isn't registered. Brands can then choose to have KnowEm secure company and product brands across networks and will also set up profiles for each company or brand. And companies will have a dashboard on KnowEm where they can access all of their profiles on social media sites from a centralized platform. The dashboard also includes an aggregated feed of mentions of a brand across the social platforms, including Digg, Twitter, and more. KnowEm's premium subscription packages range from $49 to $349 and users only pay a lifetime flat fee. Over 200,000 profiles have already been secured and created through KnowEm for a range of clients whose names cannot be disclosed, including one of the three major search engines (Yahoo, Bing or Google), a large pharmaceutical company and restaurant chains.

For those of us who are engaged in using social media to grow and promote our business, a constant challenge is just knowing what sites are out there and which ones are gaining traction. One of the side benefits of this site is that it gives you an extensive listing of all the most popular and emerging social networks broken down by category, such as blogging, bookmarking, business, photo, video, etc..

Rich - What a neat tool. I would think this would have great appeal to many who are in the social media world. Wonder how accurate it is? There has always been talk about securing your uer name or ID to protect against others using it. I suspect this is a larger issue than we realize, and it certainly has impact for bigger name brands.

Rich,

When I am back home I will have to check that out. I have had some of the articles I have written on inspection end up in the oddest spots.

Wow when I look over that list of sites I realize that I have accounts at many of them that I haven't logged into since the first time I set them up.  If I wasn't so cheap, I would sure love that $600 package where they secure them all for you.  What a cool idea.
