I recently came across a relatively new start-up that is gaining some traction in social media circles.

The brain child of SEO/Web Developer Barry Wise, KnowEm.com was developed to assist everyone - from individuals to Fortune 500 companies - in discovering where their names, brands, or trademarked terms are available (or stolen) on Social Media networks. KnowEm will not only help you secure your name across the vast social media landscape but we can also show you how to contact each site in order to have the name released and returned to you.

KnowEm's premium subscription packages range from $49 to $349 and users only pay a lifetime flat fee. Over 200,000 profiles have already been secured and created through KnowEm for a range of clients whose names cannot be disclosed, including one of the three major search engines (Yahoo, Bing or Google), a large pharmaceutical company and restaurant chains.
