Please allow me introduce to Active Rain another valuable member of my team, my sister, Renee. She persevered through our 6-month rigorous training, and has been creating really great work for us since August 2009...
__________
Renee, How did you get your training?
A professional photographer by trade, I have been involved with Real Estate Photography for multiple stagings as my family owns a staging business, so I had a decent grasp on what staging is and what it's all about. As our family's business has grown, I was encouraged to learn to Conceptually Stage. I attended a rigorous one week boot camp with CurbAppealforDummies.com founder Michelle Molinari and intern-at-the-time (and now full fledged Conceptual Designer) Barbara Guilliot in Abbeville, Louisiana. I continue my education on a regular basis through weekly on-line meetings and constant practice. Michelle was a great teacher, and I was able to pick it up pretty quickly under her guidance, but “picking it up” and “doing it right” has required quite a bit of practice. I'd estimate I have spent about 60+ hours in design sessions online, and hundreds of hours of practice before I was ever turned loose on a client's image.
Where are you located?
I live in Houston, Texas, but due to the nature of my specialty, with is Conceptual Staging, I can assist our clients anywhere in the world without leaving my office
Do you have your own Staging business?
My work is exclusively produced through CurbAppealforDummies.com and Feature This Real Estate Staging and Interior Décor, which are both companies that my family owns and operates.
In what ways do you help your clientele?
My training showed me how to ease the confusion about where to start on the journey to beautifying a home for sale or for redesign, new construction and investment homes.
Whether a client's budget is big or small, I can actually show them with my Conceptual Images what to focus on and how much they can accomplish with what they have to work with. It's a unique service with multiple applications for real estate agents, home sellers, investors and especially buyers to see the potential of the space they are choosing to buy. I create an entire Do-It-Yourself plan reflecting current trends and in keeping with the home's architectural origins. It's very cool stuff and I really enjoy my work.
What do you for pleasure? My hobbies include painting, drawing, stained glass, jewelry making and of course, photography. I enjoy doing D-I-Y projects, and like to stay active with tennis, racquetball, bowling, rollerskating, swimming, and just about anything else that involves being active and outdoors.
How do you feel about attending the upcoming RESA Conference in Las Vegas?
Well, my sister Michelle and my mom, Carol, promised if I worked hard and knew my stuff we'd get to "The Convention", so this trip means a lot to me. It's going to be something, meeting so many hard-working people that share the same passion that my family and I have.
I am really looking forward to learning even more ways to help build the family business for the long haul.
