As I see it. . . . . . . .

In my day   

A man built their self -worth through their actions and efforts there were no entitlements. It may have been hard work and sweat may be involved but they had self-respect.  

They went out and did what had to be done at great personal peril.   

They made great sacrifices and were proud of what they had to do and they when out and get the job done.   

You know who they are they were your parents, they may have been your grandparents, or they may have been you.  

They are the veterans who have served our country and earned their self-respect.

Lou, It's amazing how times have changed, isn't it?  Yesterday we earned respect, learned how to respect and worked our behinds off, and our hard work and sweat paid off. Today people believe somehow that they are "entitled", without any work.
