THE SHORES OF JUPITER OFFERS AFFORDABLE LIVING IN DISTINCTIVE HOMES

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty of the Palm Beaches

The Shores of Jupiter is a unique community, combining affordable living with distinctive homes.

With 599 homes built around lakes and through the preserve, The Shores offers residents fishing, non-motorized boating and environmental beauty unmatched in the area.  Each home has an individual look and feel with most sitting on quarter acre lots.

With the first home built in 1985, many of today's residents have updated, remodeled or added on to their existing homes.  This is a community where people stay, rather than selling and moving on.  Young families, professionals, empty nesters and retirees all call The Shores their home.

Homeowner association fees are low in the community because there are just homes, no community center, community swimming pool, tennis courts or manned gate at the entrance.  Residents like the simplicity and affordability of living at The Shores.

In mid-January, 2010 there were 15 homes for sale in the community, with six of those already under contract.  The nine remaining homes range in price from $349,900 for a three bedroom, two bath 1900 square foot home to $439,000 for a 2225 square foot, four bedroom, two bath pool home.

As in most communities throughout the area, prices for homes in The Shores declined over the past year.  In 2009, 23 homes sold in The Shores, averaging $147 per square foot, a 14 percent decline from 2008 when 13 homes sold averaging $171 a square foot.
