It's a rainy, dreary Sunday here in my corner of Alabama. So, I decided to follow up on one of my 2010 goals and search ActiveRain to get some ideas on how to start posting market reports. I am not trying to copy anyones work. Just looking for ideas such as...what kind of information to include, how to lay out the information etc.
I begin my search with Missy Caulk, who is my hero...(I want to be like her someday). Her social networking knowledge and skill simply amaze me. In searching her blog for market reports, I am truly inspired by her charts and graphs and interactive maps. She has some great tools to showcase her market and its activity
Then I move on to Lisa Heindel, who is my hero...(I want to be like her someday). I love how she presents The West Bank in a way that makes me feel I want to visit there. Her photos and posts of the area, its attractions, its restaurants etc are so interesting. And then her market reports with all the charts and graphs from every perspective imaginable are very impressive to say the least.
Then on to Rita Burke, who is my hero...(I want to be like her someday). She does such an excellent job of showcasing Denver area sales with her graphs and pie charts. And all her posts of animals are great too
Then on the Bill Gassett, who is my hero...(I want to be like him someday). One of the things that impresses me about Bob's market reports, is that he does them for so many areas, every month, on time, every time. But my favorite thing about Bob is not his market reports, but the way he showcases his listings. He knows how to showcase not only the listing, but the area its in as well(SEO at its best). In looking through his blog I got caught up in his knowledge of SEO, the interesting way he keeps your attention in ALL his posts. And then the very interesting fight debate between Bob and Nick, now that was some interesting reading!
So, here I am, 5 hours, 2 cups of coffee and one blinding headache later, with no market reports done. But I can tell you a lot about Saline and Ann Arbor Michigan, The West Bank in New Orleans, Denver and its beautiful luxury homes, and Metrowest MA.
What I learned from this journey...there are so many people here on ActiveRain who truly inspire me in so many ways. They are all so knowledgeable and gifted when it comes to doing what we all love to do...Real Estate. But, for me to be successful with writing posts about market statistics in my area, I must do it in a way that is me. My way has to fit my personality, my style, in order for it to be interesting to my readers.
I have many hero's here on ActiveRain. All inspire me in different ways. Maybe I should make this a series about "My Hero's" at ActiveRain
