Sharing a story of how the community of Coral Springs Florida helps Haiti people

Compassion is at it's best when disaster hits.

My church, Church by the Glades, announced at our services last weekend that they were going to donate 100% of their offerings over this past weekend to Haiti in the form of money. We all know how desperately needed money is in Haiti. When Pastor David Hughes announced this at the service I was attending last Saturday at 5:30, it didn't surprise me at all. This is what we, who are so blessed, are supposed to do when others are in need and going through devastating times. I'm blessed to be a part of Church by the Glades here in Coral Springs Florida. God rocks at Church by the Glades. Church by the Glades sent $160,000! WOW!

If you're here in South Florida and are looking for a Church to make a difference in your life, check out Church by the Glades. You'll be glad you.

That is awesome Lynn- what one small congregation can raise! I am very humbled by your love and support of the Haitian crisis. I have Haitian inlaws and we just found everyone today. One niece had to have her leg amputated but everyone is alive. Our church has the largest humanitarian aid division in the entire world that is 100% given to the needy- no overhead at all- no management fees and every one works on volunteer basis only. No one gets paid to serve in our church. Our planes were the first ones on the ground in Haiti while our own government could not get the pass to land. Our planes were filled with water, medicine, blankets, batteries, first aid, etc- and on their way within hours after the tragedy struck. When our church found out that Hurricane Katrina was coming to the gulf- their trucks started out from Salt Lake loaded with emergency water and supplies before anyone else even knew what they should do. They planned to arrive as soon as the hurricane passed and they were the first help there in the gulf areas. They are always the first responders to any world natural disaster. Quite impressive. Katerina, oh I know....it's mind boggling, isn't it?!

I'm sorry to hear of your in-laws awful circumstances yet thank God they survived. You must feel great being part of such a Church as you describe. It is so heart warming to hear of so many willing to do so much for others in need especially when so many of us are very fortunate. Quite impressive is an understatement!
