Speechless Sunday - New beginnings!!

New beginnings!

On our daughter's Flickr site she called this Dead and Living.  I am calling it New Beginnings!  Years ago I remember a radio commentator saying we have two seasons in Houston; summer and January.  I for one am ready for January to be over with and the new spring beginnings to start.

Marchel,

We're months away from any new beginnings around here. I'm looking forward to it after a tough winter.

Marchel - no offense to your daughter but I like New Begginings better than Dead and Living.  Love the photo and glad you've got spring peaking thru.  We've still a long way to go.

Marchel, great title for the photo!  We are still several weeks away from anything like that!  But once that January is past, at least it usually starts warming up!

GEORGE, I remember the days of the green coming out of the snow.  I don't miss shoveling that stuff!!

RUSSELL, I sure hope spring is on the way.  Our palm trees are so sad.  It looks like many of them are dead, dead, dead.  We have lived here 14 years and this has been the hardest winter yet.

HEATHER, I loved my daughters picture but the title did nothing for me. My glass is almost always HALF FULL.

JOAN, This has been a hard winter for us also.  We are not use to temperatures below freezing several days in a row.

TERRY, I do remember those days of waiting for February and March. Shoot in Colorado I can remember it snowing in May and June.

MICHAEL, It is so unusual for us to have a winter like this.  You just have to love this global warming.  Our palm trees are so sad.  I'm fairly sure many of them are DEAD.

JENNIFER, I love putting my hands in the dirt. My Dad is still the gardner my Mother has nothing to do with it.  I LOVE puttering with my garden and eating my produce. We were eating lettuce I grew all fall.

RICHARD, Spring is my favorite season.  I LOVE the new beginnings!

CHERISE, It always seems like winter goes on and on.  We lived in Colorado for 15 years and I remember all those soccer games standing out in the snow and yuck watching my children play.

ANN, I loved the contrast in the shot.  It does show the deal and the living but I'm sticking with New beginnings (lol).

LORA, I love living here because our new beginnings start so early.

TONY, I do think January is always the turning point. Even when we lived in Colorado I don't remember subarctic temperatures past January.

CHARLES, I LOVE living in Spring TX because spring happens so early here. I'm ready we are preparing our garden area.  I am doing 6 raised beds this year. Potatoes will be planted mid February.

DIANE, I also love New beginnings. I can't wait for everything to start greening up.  Our leaves come on in March so it is not long.

CAROLE, This last week we had a number of 70 degree temperatures.  We could still have a freeze so I bought plant covers today in preparation.  I tried before our last freeze but everyone was out.  Since I'm prepared I'm hoping it doesn't happen.

ANN, I grew up in Wichita Kansas so I KNOW exactly where you are coming from!

Summer and January - I can certainly relate to that!  Sacramento has only experienced rain and fog all month long, with the exception of one Sunday Afternoon, when the sun peeked through!  I love the picture. . .Wonderful colors!

PATRICIA, I remember spring/winter and then spring/winter and then more spring/winter when we lived in Colorado.

MYRL, We have not had a great winter either.  Now this last week has been beautiful but I hear winter is coming back Thursday.

MELISSA, I'm thinking you must have some family here in Spring.  Maybe we can meet sometime when you come.

RAY, I have to give my daughter the credit for the picture.  I love her pictures!

MARY, I do remember waiting a long time for spring in Colorado.  This has been a rough winter for us so I'm ready for spring.  We have lived here 14 years and this winter has been the hardest. I guess it must be a common problem this winter as I commented on a post that a guy from Tampa wrote and he was complaining about the same thing.  Funny he had lived there 14 years also.

JIM, God does have a way of recycling. My daughter and I went to the natural science museum and watched an IMAX on bugs today and it was so awesome watching the bug cycle. What an awesome world we live in!
