noun: professional character, spirit, or methods. The standing, practice, or methods of a professional, as distinguished from an amature. One who receives continuous and regular payment for what the do.

So why is it some people put a picture of thier dog, cat or children on thier business cards because they don't like having their picture taken. Or the RE business card I saw one time and when I met the realtor I could not tell it was her because the picture was obviously taken in her early 30s and was now in her mid 60s.

When your selling yourself and your services, aren't you trying to sell yourself?

Absolutely! I don't even put my picture on my business cards. Real estate is one of the few industries where this practice is done.

Speaking of professionals....Have you ever seen a picture on a doctor's or an attorney's business card? I can't say that I ever have.

No, and I don't understand why. When I moved last year I had to find a new doctor and when I went to one office I immidiatley said no...and appoligized for wasting his time....he looked like he just crawled out of bed and hadn't shaved in a week...and this was in the afternoon...and I'll be the first to admit...I'm not the handsomist guy around...hehehehe

Pictures on business cards are de-rigeur for the trade but that is pre-supposing that image marketing really works. I suggest that if a pic on a card was that good there'd be no such thing as a hungry Realtor or LO!

Cards can be very useful, used the right way - and, certainly, you need more than one style. People connect with people who connect with them - it has nothing to do with their mug-shot (good or bad).

I agree that a picture doesn't determine how good of a realtor someone is, but can you honestly say that the guy with the just-out-of-bed look gets as many second considerations as the guy who is polished and professional?
