Mardi Gras Mask and BeadsNot exactily, but on Friday, February 12, 2010 a New Orlean's like atmostphere will welcome guests for an evening of Bourbon Street fun.  Beginning at 5:00, attend the 3rd ANNUAL NEW ORLEANS BASH AT THE BOTHWELL where you'll enjoy Bistro café-seating at the Jackson Square Street Party with New Orleans style music and dancing.

Indulge in tasty, Louisiana cuisine including gumbo, jambalaya, pralines and desserts. And of course for that true Bourbon Street feel, there will be Hurricanes and chicory coffee to sip.  Food is available ala carte and local wine and beer will be on hand.

Dress for the occasion if you like in your own festive attire, or shop for Mardi Gras trinkets, masks, and beads, while strolling along Royal Street, and viewing New Orleans art.  You can also bid on silent auction entries, with all proceeds benifiting the Bothwell Arts Center.

2/24/2010  An update for you after attending this event.  It was really fun.  We went with neighbors and saw another couple from our neighborhood too.  You've gotta love a venue that has the cocktain counter right up front as you enter.  They were serving Hurricane's, as tasty as those served at Pat O-Brien's in New Orleans.  Ummmmm.....  The music beckoned us in and it was amazing to see a fairly plain, functional building transformed by festive decorations, mood lighting, colors and sounds.  And the food - wow!  I was impressed how good it was prepared for such a large crowd.  We all had so much fun, we did a repeat performace at our home the next Saturday night with a group of twelve.  Jambalaya, Shrimp Etouffe, Pecan Pie, Key Lime Pie, Spicy Chicken Wings, Corn Bread, Salad, Chicken Gumbo, and home made Kings Cake.  And yes, we too had Hurricanes!

Here we are enjoying the fun and food.  For some reason, our husbands have gone incognito - Hmmm.  Look at them hiding behind their masks. Harder to drink your Hurricand's that way guys ;)

Enjoying New Orlean's Bash

My friends have gone before and say it's a great time, so we've got our tickets.  I'll have to post about how it was!
