And Now (and How), It Pours

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Prime Properties

PencilI can't believe this.  Suddenly, I am swamped.  I have new listings and new accepted offers to follow up on.  I have a phone that is running out of battery from ringing so much.  I have this smile on my face that won't go away.

And I have, like, zero new blog posts written.  So I'm taking a minute here to back it up and get back to basics.  I love this place, and I love writing my posts.  It's the one time each day that I am always just Christina.  I'm not Mommy, or wife, cook, house cleaner... I'm just me.

I take a lot of pride in being a professional Realtor, and I have always been writer too.  It's just that not everything I write gets read.  But, if you're reading this, there's something I want you to know.  This is me.  Totally.  It's not filtered... much.  It's not contrived or designed to trick anyone.

I love doing this because I feel like I am having a conversation with... well, myself.  And whoever else wants to listen.  And if you have read other things I've written and wondered how true it is, here's the answer.  It is.

I have a huge amount of respect for anyone who can take the time and initiative to blog about anything.  I know a lot of people who are blogging about real estate, because we have something in common.  But I am also enjoying reading blogs about nothing.  Like the Seinfeld show in print.  That's cool... and long as people are consistent and real, they have me hooked.

But, okay, back to basics.  I love where I live and I think people are missing out.  So I am going to go back to what I was originally going to do.  I'm going to write about this cool place and all the things that there are to do here.  Have you planned you summer vacation yet?  Let me help.

Do you live in Central New York?  Let me show you around.  Do you want to be a tourist in Syracuse?  Let me give you some tips.  That's why I'm here.

And, by the way... if you want to buy or sell a home in the Syracuse, New York area, give me a call.  That's how I earn a living.

Hi Christina,  your writing shows the real you. I could tell that the first post I read of yours.  Isn't it amazing how we go 0-60 in a week or so.  :)  From, "Man I wish my phone would ring"  to "Can't I take a potty break?"  :)  Ha Ha.  The world of Real Estate. I love it!

Christina - I can soooooooooooo relate - I am swamped with business and frustrated at how it's cramping my blogging time. I too love "real writing" - even if it's a Seinfeld moment! Glad life is bustling in Syracuse NY!

I love hearing that everyone is swamped!  Maybe this market is turning around, or maybe we are all just good at what we do!  ;-)

Christina, it sounds like  real estate in Syracuse is a fun thing to do for a living right now, even if you don't get to blog much.  If you like writing, you will find a way and we will see you here often, I know.

Sally-  I don't even know what that's all about.  I'll have to check into it tomorrow.  I'm hoping to have more than five minutes in a row to do my own thing tomorrow!

Susan- It sure does!  But I know that after this I'll be bored again!  LOL

Chris- Thanks for taking the time to comment.  A busy life is good!

Stephanie- I KNOW!  It's totally crazy, man!  But I am going to love it while I can, because you never know what will happen next!

Cyndee- Yes, I feel like I was just getting into my blog the right way, and all this business came along... not that I would EVER complain... but I am looking forward to finding some balance.

Joanne- I am going to be optimistic and say that this is the beginning of a good streak for all of us.  I think maybe we're going to be happier soon!  And I WILL find a way to write.

Eric- You're right.  I am amazed at how much easier it is now than it was when I started a couple years ago.  It only gets better in this job, huh?

Christina,

Wow, glad to hear things are well with you in Syracuse!  For me, blogging has felt like recreation at times, I've enjoyed it myself, and yes business does get in the way every now and then, but I'll take it when I can get it.  My creditors like it that way too.

Lynda- I am finding that blogging is great or many reasons.  One is for my mental health, but another is business.  I am seeing some good leads come from my efforts on AR and elsewhere on the web, so I see it as a part of my marketing plan as well as fun and as a great stress reliever.
