I live in the middle of an urban area where the only large animals are deer and dogs - it is so wonderful to think of creatures like moose wandering free! I love these photos! thanks for posting.

Debra, smart move, it is best not to come between mama and her baby!  Cool photos!

Awesome, is this a daily event or fairly rare?

For sure...never get in the way of any Mom and her babe... can you see the young one... on the last picture alll the way to the right at the bottom...to the right of where you see that snow cut in....you can see her ears if you look real close where the snow line is...

it is more every day...you can get a glimpse or close up and personal pretty much every day in the winter...espcially if there is lots of snow...

I bet they are interesting to watch.  How long would it take for them to eat all your bushes?

They don't seem to be afraid of people - but I guess if I was that big, I wouldn't be either :)

How wonderful! I think I would have been stuck there with my camera, but best to move on and let them alone.

Great Questions! They eat a LOT! I was at a lisitng today and the owner started shooing off a small moose in her yard....it was eating her tree... and no they are not too afraid of us or our cars... it is fun to live with them..thank you all!

Debra, I am continually blown away by your pictures.  It's amazing to me that you can see these creatures on a regular basis.  I know we get used to the wild life around us...I've just never been around moose before...lots of deer and coyotes and big birds, etc., but nothing quite that large...that's wild anyway!

Hi Debra, That is some big moose. I am guessing he moved of so you get the car out of the garage. Wonderful to see these animals though. I would have taken a hundred pictures and THEN teach him to come when I call, :-)

Debra,

I do see the ears of the baby in the last photo!   :)  I believe that mom was making sure that no one got close to her baby or else!   Something tells they will be back in your driveway so that you can get a good photo of the two together.
