So what do realtors do in the evening, after a long day of showing houses to their clients in DC or Bethesda or Chevy Chase or Northern Virginia! I raced from point A to point B and back to point C all day long, and I was definately looking forward to a family evening. I spent the weekend taking care of a new listing in Kenwood Forest that got at least one offer, so I felt like I was due some quality time.
I watched Grapes of Wrath with my husband and my 16 year old daughter this evening - what a great movie! The cinematography is incredible - one scene with Peter Fonda, his father, and uncle driving across the desert in their overloaded truck with all their worldly belongings piled into it - and you see them as their reflections in the windshield. Or the scene when Peter Fonda comes home to his empty dark home and he is lit by the candle left behind. All you see is his face in the dark.
It is a phenomenal movie with incredible actors directed by John Ford about a tragic time in our history - the Okies thrown off the land and moving to California during the Depression and the dust bowl.
Fortunately, I know how the movie ends --- because I got it from Netflicks and in the middle of the movie - it stopped working - scratched - defective CD - oh dear! End of movie!
I wish you better luck than I had with the movie - it is definately worth watching and a great movie night for your family! Break out the popcorn.
