The "Thank you Buck" signs that the City of Santa Clarita hung around town to publicize the bill introduced by Rep. Buck McKeon for submitting a bill to stop the Cemex mine have been deemed legal by federal election officials.

The signs had been disputed by some Santa Clarita residents saying that they were an endorsement of a candidate and of an issue that not everyone in Santa Clarita suppports.

Members of the local Democratic club claim that the signs are an illegal endorsement of a political candidate (elections are in November) and that they will file a complaint with the Federal Election Committee.
