I have been talking with a lot of realtors in my area & they all are seeing the same trend in pest & termite companies. It seems that everytime a termite company is called out to do a "TERMITE INSPECTION" the inspector always tells the buyers that there is lots of "MOLD" in the crawl space & suggest that it be remediated before they buy the house (which they convenenietly offer the treatment). It's important to let the buyers know if there's a problem when you are called for that specific type of inspection. The buyers only asked for a termite inspection & all of a sudden they have a "MOLD" expert to put fear in the buyers & make the realtor lose there sale. Make sure that the company that is used for the termite inspection does not have a vested interest in the homes they inspect & that they only commit on what they where called out to inspect for. If you know of people having this problem please tell me about them. Thanks Jsallen,

I have a a lot of problems with termite inspectors in general.  This is another thing to watch out for.  Thanks for the heads up.  I had another problem with the termite inspector at a home where they quoted $1800 for repairing 3 boards.  I know for fact this shouldn't have cost so much but the seller used them still.

Patrick, thanks for the info i agree that most termite companies have hidden agendas so please look around to find someone that does not have a vested interest in the homes. Look for an independent inspecting firm that you can trust.
