Thank you Simon for sharing this with us. I re-blogged it.
God Bless Our Troops.
Simon,
I have always admired Col. North. Thanks for sharing this speech.
Simon - Back in the early days of the Iraq war, when news organizations were embedded with infantry or Marine elements, the constant thread that was woven through their reporting was the simple phrase, "Where do we get these young men". For those brief periods of time, the reporters were not talking about politics or weapons of mass destruction. They reported with wonder at the skill, dedication and selflessness of the soldiers in the field. Despite the diversity of their background, they put themselves in harm's way with pride and a feeling that they were a part of something bigger than themselves. They reported on the high morale and the singleness of purpose that was a part of every man or woman who wore the uniform in a combat zone.
And I am intensely proud of each and every one of them.
Thank you for providing this eloquent reminder from LTC North.
Ollie North rocks my world Simon. He is a true American Hero.
