Beaches - Bay County has over 27 miles of coastline on the Gulf of Mexico and is home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches. Panama City Beach has received numerous awards for their white sandy beaches and pristine emerald green waters, and consistently rates as one of the nation's top beaches.
Climate - With an average annual temperature of 74° and an average of 320 days of sunshine per year, the area attracts over 7 million visitors annually.
Golf - Over 20 courses within 40 miles, including the first and only Nicklaus Design course in Northwest Florida, the Panama City area was rated the #3 Golf Town by Golf Digest in 2002.
Diving - The natural, historical, and artificial reefs in the waters off Panama City Beach provide optimal dive sites. The warm Gulf of Mexico waters encourage rapid reef growth and the wrecks and other underwater sites provide breeding grounds for all types of exotic sea life - from tropical fish to giant Manta Rays.
Fishing - The area off the shores of Bay County is widely considered some of the best fishing grounds in the Gulf. Panama City boasts one of the nation's largest sport fishing fleets and hosts ten annual fishing tournaments, including the high profile Bay Point Billfish Invitational.
Eco-Tourism - Northwest Florida is one of the most important places for diverse and rare species in the country, often referred to as "The Last Undiscovered Florida Coast." The Panama City and Panama City Beach area is a source of natural beauty, home to several state parks and forests.
Shopping - Panama City and Panama City Beach have a diverse collection of available shopping options, ranging from local arts and craft stores, beach and souvenir shops, to the Panama City Mall and Pier Park, a 900,000 square foot open-air shopping complex and family entertainment venue in Panama City Beach.
Arts & Culture - An extremely strong cultural presence exists in Bay County through the Bay Arts Alliance and other community organizations.
