OK I tried but I can't figue it out either. Maybe there's a little man hiding in my computer?
I'm stumped. Not sure how it happens, must be the gamma rays that the government has floating through the air to read our minds.
This is pretty funny but if you look very closely, no matter what number you pick, it will be a multiple of nine, So the gift is a number that is a multiple of nine and mentioned many times on the page. Sometimes called the law of Nines, the equation they give you will always add up to a multiple of nine and then they just use the same gift in each square that is a multiple of nine. Go back and check out how many boxes have the "regift" listed!
Do I get a prize? ;-)

Russell is officially the smartest in the bunch. LOL... or just the biggest math geek =P And yes, I noticed there were a lot of repeat "gifts". But how does it guess the EXACT one every time?
HA HA...my first time called a geek, now I can cross that off my list!
The answer to your question is because EACH of the numbers is a multiple of 9 and those are the only squares that have the same prize repeated! ;-)
Hi Lisa - Russel has it right. There have been other versions of this trick and they are all fun and even if you know the trick, it's still amazing how our math works like that!
Now this is really something. Have you figured it out how she does it?

I tried it even though I am a bit slower than most...could not even remember my number!
